Then this race is not just a physical challenge, but a true mental test as well!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I\u2019d like to invite you to a very special swimming competition. We\u2019re not the organisers, but it\u2019s still close to my heart \u2013 because in a way, it\u2019s part of my own story too. <\/p>\n\n<p>When I was a kid, the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/masport.hu\/kiemelt-rendezvenyek\/kihivas-napja\/\">Day of Challenge<\/a>\u201d was an important event for me. Back in the early \u201890s, it was a huge thing for every athlete. Everyone took part: running, cycling, whatever they liked. But at some point, we craved a bigger challenge\u2026 I don\u2019t exactly remember whose idea it was to <strong>swim 10 km in the pool<\/strong>, but we did it! There were six of us (maybe a bit crazy), who thought it would be tough \u2013 but anyone who trained regularly could do it. Now, at 50, I\u2019d probably hesitate\u2026 \ud83d\ude04 Especially because swimming that distance in a pool feels endless! And honestly, the distance itself sounds pretty intimidating too.<br \/>A few years ago, when I signed up for the <a href=\"https:\/\/openwater.hu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">OWT<\/a>, I remembered this old swim and wondered whether to do 3 km or 9 km at the Gy\u00e9k\u00e9nyes race. In the end, I chose the 3 km, finished it in about 48 minutes, and was absolutely exhausted!        <\/p>\n\n<p>Back then, there was no Cetrend, no race series \u2013 just us and the freezing cold water (because of course, on that day there was a technical problem at the pool, so the water was icy).<\/p>\n\n<p>Now, 100 starts later, the organisers have invited us, the \u201cfounding swimmers\u201d, to complete the distance together as a team for this anniversary event.
